CoolSculpting, Diet, & Me
CoolSculpting, Diet, & Me
One of the benefits of CoolSculpting that’s great is that it gets rid of your fat cells, and they won’t come back! A little fun fact about the human body is that everyone is born with a fixed number of fat cells, interesting huh? We bet that you are wondering what these fat cells do anyways: fat cells don’t multiply they just get bigger or smaller – when you gain weight they enlarge and get bigger, and when you lose weight, they shrink. That’s why CoolSculpting is not a weight loss treatment, but rather a fat reduction procedure. With that being said, if you do not maintain a healthy routine, the remaining cells can plump back up and the pounds can creep back up on you, too.
Diet
Diet and exercise are always important! And those two words are your friends because diet and exercise will help you to get the most out of your CoolSculpting treatment, look slimmer in your clothes, and keep off the weight gain. There is no one fits all diet plan, but there are healthy habits to develop that can help anyone to start and maintain a healthy diet. One habit that might seem a little obvious is maintaining a balanced diet. It is important not to fall into the trap of thinking that “I can eat anything I want, whenever I want!”
So, how can you avoid an unhealthy diet and maintain a healthy one?
Here are a few tips:
– Look for Healthy & Green
– Drink More Water
– Portion-Control, Portion-Control, Portion-Control
Will I have an ever-growling stomach?
No, of course not! You can add healthy, green, and filling foods to your shopping list to make sure of it.
Fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean meats, fish, beans & lentils, and nuts – there’s plenty of different things that your body can consume to silence your stomach grumblings without going over on calories. This is valuable to remember because, for most people, that feeling of being hungry all the time is one of the main reasons why most diets are out the door within a week. What makes these kinds of foods more filling than others: they’re high in protein and high in fiber, both of which suppress hunger, increase metabolism, and take longer to digest. What that means for you is that your belly stays full for longer periods of time and that can help you to eat less.
Choose H2O!
Drink more water! Ditch the sugary drinks and opt for water whenever you can, it’s a foolproof way to reduce calorie intake. Staying hydrated plays a key role in weight loss, in fact, water plays a key role in every chemical reaction that takes place in our bodies. One of those important roles includes how fast or slow our metabolism is, in burning off fats and in the breaking down of carbohydrates. One more simple thing that water can do for you is to reduce your appetite and hunger, which will help you with portion control.
Water is the best!
The break-down on calories and portion control
The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends setting a limit on total calories from fat to 25-35%. Which is about 65 grams of fat or less a day if you eat 2,000 calories a day. Keeping track of your calories can be tedious but it is important because when you eat more calories than you need to, your body starts to store fat!
Calories add up even if you’re making healthy food choices! Whatever extra calories you take in, even from fat-free/low-fat foods, can get stored in your body as body fat. It does make you wonder whether your body is for you, or against you…
But indeed, your body is totally for you – it starts to store fat for you as a source of energy just in case you might starve and maybe need to go into survival mode. That’s where portion control comes in, eating just what your body needs instead of mindlessly consuming whatever it wants.
So, keep portion sizes in check:
– At home, try slimming down your portion sizes.
– In restaurants, split a meal with your loved one — or eat half and take the rest home.
